Hydroxycut was first developed using the famous ephedra extract. They are now manufactured by Muscle Tech, and since then they have had to reformulate. They have come out with a number of different products in their line, all ephedra free and all serving differing purposes. But unfortunately, apparently they didn’t learn their lesson. At this point, the FDA has not issued a statement as to if the ingredients in question were actually listed on the bottle or not. But Muscle Tech recalled the products right as the FDA issued an official statement about the safety concerns and liver failure associated with Hydroxycut products. They have currently recalled 14 products, and there has been no word on seeing a reappearance on the market or anything else for that matter. Their formulas were weak anyway. We would not recommend buying them were they to reappear at any given time.
