Bontril is a prescription medication. Generically speaking, it is known as Phendimetrazine, and it is produced by Carnick Laboratories. It is specifically prescribed for those with 20 pounds or more to lose, and it works through amphetamine like mechanisms of action. It increases heart rate, blood pressure, and essentially speaking stimulates the central nervous system.
The Good
It is an FDA approved prescription product that has been clinically proven to work. It suppresses appetite, and it’s tightly controlled so that you can learn to change your lifestyle and therefore maintain results among other things.
The Bad
Side effects such as allergic reactions, irregular heartbeat, very high blood pressure, hallucinations, abnormal behavior, confusion, restlessness, tremors, nervousness, anxiety, insomnia, dry mouth, unpleasant taste in your mouth, diarrhea, constipation, impotence, or change in sex drive are common in this particular product, and it is rather addictive for many individuals. It doesn’t always work, and many have found it is not used for longer periods of time even though it can work for reasons of side effects.
The Skinny
We would not recommend Bontril. Bontril is proven, and it’s a prescription. However, there are quite a few problems associated with it to say the least. It can interact with various drugs and worsen many medical conditions, and frankly it doesn’t work that well to say the least, at least not well enough to justify the costs at this point in time. We would recommend that you stay far away from it.
